Milk Rounds over the Christmas Period
As Christmas Day falls on a Sunday this year, our milk round delivery to you will be on your normal delivery day. You will see your milkman delivering your milk as usual, just as they have done all year despite whatever is thrown at them, the cold, the rain, punctures, and ever-increasing roadworks!
On the Farm
The continued wet weather has meant our older beef animals have also now come inside for the winter. This group includes Big Billy who is such a huge character for those of you that came to Turn Out Day last Spring. He’ll be inside now until that magical day next spring when he runs out into a grassy field again and is the star of the show on Turn Out Day 2023! Don’t miss it, save the date: Turn Out Day next year will be on Easter Bank Holiday Monday, 10 April 2023.
The Mad Marsh Run is BACK!
Following the success of our inaugural Mad Marsh Run back in 2019, we can confirm that our Spring 2023 event will take place on Sunday 23rd April 2023. After an absence of four years, here’s a reminder of what The Mad Marsh Run is all about:
Hosted on our fields on the protected marshlands, this mud run is unique in that it benefits the environment too – just by taking part in the Mad Marsh Run you will help conserve the amazing Pevensey Levels!
It’s an intense mud run through marsh and mire, with plenty of ditch jumps and other fun obstacles – a real test of mind and body. Choose between 10km or 5km distances
Spectators can watch the fun unfurl with tractor-and-trailer rides that will take you to the centre of the action. After the race, it’s back to the farm for a BBQ and drinks. All runners will receive a Mad Marsh Run T-shirt, a medal, and a bottle of Hook & Son’s fresh organic milk!

We are also looking for volunteers to be involved with the event, to help with car parking, and stewards for the ditch jumps and course obstacles. Christmas Turkey: If you haven’t ordered your turkey yet, contact Michael Vine, a local poultry farmer, who for years has produced wonderful turkeys. Same thing as our beef, make sure you get your order in early to avoid disappointment, especially as there will be a shortage of turkeys this year!
